Smoothies: I freeze the yogurt recipe above in ice cube trays for smoothies. We add whatever fruit we have but strawberries and bananas are our favorite. I also put about ¼ cup of frozen spinach or kale, apple juice, and sometimes a little bit of raw sugar or maple syrup, though they are usually sweet enough without it. Recipe: Homemade Popcorn

Homemade popcorn: We have a Whirley Pop popcorn maker that you use on the stove top. I add about a tablespoon of coconut oil (or olive oil) and a little less than a teaspoon of salt to the bottom of the pot, then add 1/3 cup kernels. It is one of my families’ favorite snacks and it’s cheap and healthy.

Recipe: Homemade Vanilla Cake

Vanilla cake: Combine 2 ½ cups flour, 1 small package of vanilla pudding, 1 ½ cup sugar, 3 ts baking powder, 1 ts salt 1 ts vanilla, , ½ cup oil, 4 eggs, 1 cup water. Mix and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Butter cream frosting: 4 ½ cups powdered sugar, ½ cup stick butter (soft), 2 ts vanilla, 3 TB milk – Mix well until creamy.

Recipe: Homemade Chocolate Cake

Chocolate cake: Combine 3 cups flour, 2 cups sugar, 6 TB cocoa, 2 ts baking soda, 1 ts salt. Add to dry mix 2 ts vanilla, ¾ cup oil, 2 TB vinegar, 2 cups cold water. Mix and add chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Chocolate frosting: ½ cup butter (soft), whip together with 3 cups powdered sugar, 2 TB cocoa, 3 TB or more of milk – until the consistency is what you want it to be.

Chicken Pot Pie: My daughter calls this Vegetable Pot Pie because it has way more veggies than chicken but you can always adjust the amounts to fit your families’ need.
