Humus: 1 can chickpeas, drained,1/4 cup tahini,1/3 cup lemon juice,1/3 cup water,2 TB olive oil,1 tsp salt,1/2 tsp cumin,1 garlic clove,1/8 tsp cayenne pepper. Blend in a blender or food processor.

Smoothies: I freeze the yogurt recipe above in ice cube trays for smoothies. We add whatever fruit we have but strawberries and bananas are our favorite. I also put about ¼ cup of frozen spinach or kale, apple juice, and sometimes a little bit of raw sugar or maple syrup, though they are usually sweet enough without it. Homemade popcorn: We have a Whirley Pop popcorn maker that you use on the stove top. I add about a tablespoon of coconut oil (or olive oil) and a little less than a teaspoon of salt to the bottom of the pot, then add 1/3 cup kernels. It is one of my families’ favorite snacks and it’s cheap and healthy.

Mix and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Butter cream frosting: 4 ½ cups powdered sugar, ½ cup stick butter (soft), 2 ts vanilla, 3 TB milk – Mix well until creamy.
