Literacy Helps
Literacy 1. Literacy Rich Environment: The biggest teaching reading advice I can give parenting of pre-schooler, is to have a literacy rich environment for your kids. Have books easy to grab and read if you have a few minutes. Play games that encourage phonetic awareness. My second child thrived on games and seriously about 90% of his pre-school education was game related. Here are some other ideas I do with my kids: 2. Introduction One thing I want all my readers to know is that there is not meant to be any guilt in these pages. This is not an inspired declaration on how to parent; rather it’s just a few things that I have learned along the way. The most important lesson I have learned through the parenting journey, is that I have so much more to learn. My hope and prayer for this website is that you would find encouragement and support to be the mother that you want to be. There is no secret formula...

Making Time For Each Child: We have a large family, so making time for each child’s individual needs can be tricky. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at...

Discipline Ideas: Children Don’t Fit in a Box: One thing having a couple of children will teach you is that they are all unique and need to be parented as individuals. What is effective for my first born was not effective at all for my third child. Get creative! Strategize with friends. Ask for other ideas. If your current ways of showing love or correction are not working, look for other strategies. Become a student of your children. Learn what makes them tick. Look for ways to build them up...

Good Intentions My husband says that I am great at coming up with systems, but not great at implementing them. I hate to admit it, but he’s right. Being naturally creative, I love to come up with a plan to solve any problem. Storage systems, disciplinary systems, organizational systems, I love them all! However, I often lack the discipline to carry through on implementing them, rendering them useless. My intentions are good, but my focus or effort is lacking. I found this great map idea last...
